We run an event or two!
For an organisation of our kind, you’d expect us to run an event or two. Well you won’t be disappointed with 76+ events planned in any calendar year, and broadly following seven different formats there is a style of event for everyone.
Some YBW events are large with 40+ people and others are smaller, more intimate meetings.
We have events that are designed to encourage interaction, others for collaboration and support, some that have an educational bias. All events are interactive and there are none that are what we call a “pitch fest” – an endless run of 60-second elevator pitches (they have their place, but not with YBW).
Most events are held online, some in person, and we also hold hybrid events, where delegates are in person and online at the same time.
But regardless of which event you attend, every event follows the 3 YBW rules:
You must be prepared to have fun
Political correctness is not allowed
No pitching to the audience
(one person tried once, we made them cry and didn’t feel bad about it one little bit)

I joined YBW to help build my client base and build a network of business owners that could help me in some way.
Being a member allowed me to meet a wealth of people from all business sectors helping engage and spread each others message.
Brett's enthusiasm for his work shines through and will help you at the drop of a hat if you need it, he helped me lay out a clear plan of where to go in my business and has really helped me drive it forward - I would highly recommend having a chat with Brett to see how he could help you.
Brett and the YBW have been instrumental in supporting my business.

It is not just about advice and support, it is also about creating connections with the right people at the right time. I would recommend the connection with Brett to anyone who is either starting up or growing their business.

Our Event Formats
Designed during lockdown 1.0, this simple event was designed to recreate the fundamentals of the “open” networking element of an in-person event but online. Fun, lighthearted allowing maximum interaction between delegates using nothing more than zoom and a little maths.
These work in any medium and are a reverse-engineered event based 100% on questions posed by the audience. A great way to educate, inform and to meet other people in a relaxed format.
Held either morning, lunch, late afternoon in evening sessions, these are small group “mastermind” style meetings where we ask each delegate “how can we help you” and we all help – does what it says on the tin, but again a brilliant way to build relationships.
Our opportunity to give the stage to a member to educate others on a topic of interest. Speakers where possible are chosen from within our membership but the focus is more based on knowledge sharing, unless hosted in-person when open networking will take before and after.
Hosted by the YBW team these events are normally hosted online with the focus of helping members to develop skills and understanding on a range of topics based on growth. Topics have included networking skills, referral strategy, gaining further reach, sales skills to mention a few.
Do we really have to explain what a social event is?
Our final catch-all category where we will host special events in addition to our normal schedule such as reacting to a specific need or circumstance, unveiling a new product/service or even the upcoming YBW Business Awards (for normal people).
